Ken Russell’s delirious adaptation of The Who’s epic rock opera is still mind-blowing visual  trip. Featuring enduring  songs such as Pinball Wizard, superstar cameos, memorable performances from Ann Margaret, Oliver Reed and Roger Daltry and a host of Portsmouth and Southsea locations, where most of the film was shot. Showing (weather allowing*) on the recently re-opened South Parade Pier, one of the locations featured in the film.

*If windy, the venue Cumberland Museum Butterfly Garden.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets purchased online at book.events are fully transferable as each ticket has a unique barcode that will be scanned on entry to the event. If the event has to be cancelled due to bad weather, the event will be rescheduled for the following day at the same location and tickets will remain valid.

The decision to cancel in the event of bad weather will be posted on our Facebook page and on the Portsmouth Film Society website. The booking fee is non-refundable in all circumstances.
